Introducing the New Haptique Macros: Your Familiar Setup, More Control
Updated 15 Oct, 2026Activities & MacrosYour Haptique routines are getting more flexible. The new Macros bring your Sequences, device controls, lighting groups and physical button mappings together in one place.
For existing RS90 users, the goal is simple: keep the setup you know, with more options when you want to edit it. You do not need to rebuild your existing routines to make the transition.
What is changing?
Previously, a saved Sequence could be the routine you opened on your remote for an activity such as watching TV. With the new system, a Macro becomes the place for that activity, while the original Sequence continues to hold its ON/OFF commands and delays.
A Sequence defines the commands and timing. A Macro brings together the Sequences and controls you want for an activity. You can include more than one Sequence, add relevant device pages and lighting groups, and configure physical keys from the Macro editor.
What happens to my existing setup?
Existing saved Sequences from before the rollout automatically receive a corresponding Macro when you next open Macros in the web configurator or sync your RS90 configuration. There is no migration wizard.
The automatic transition carries over:
- Your routine's name and custom logo.
- Its saved physical button mappings.
- Its order and favorite selections for the same remotes.
- The original device control pages and saved Custom UI.
- The original ON/OFF commands and delays, through the existing Sequence.
The updated RS90 app also preserves device-page preferences, including hidden or reordered pages and the remembered page. Existing newer layouts take priority over recovered layouts.
If a routine was a favorite on one remote, its Macro stays associated with that remote. Routines that were not favorites are not automatically added to every remote's home screen.
Example: your familiar “Watch TV” routine
Suppose you already have a Watch TV routine with a custom icon, TV and receiver controls, volume keys assigned to the receiver, and your own touchscreen layout.
After the transition, you will find Watch TV under Macros in the configurator. Its original Sequence still supplies the power commands and delays. The Macro keeps the familiar name, icon, key assignments and saved controls, so you can continue using the activity on your RS90.
When you want to expand it, open the Macro editor to bring in another Sequence, add a device control page, include a lighting group or adjust your key mappings. Adding a device page makes its controls available; it does not automatically add extra power commands.
What should I do now?
- Open Macros in the Haptique web configurator using your existing account.
- Install the latest available RS90 app update to receive the layout and display compatibility improvements.
- Refresh or sync the configuration on the remote itself.
- Open a familiar routine and check its icon, touchscreen controls, physical keys and ON/OFF behavior.
Keep your original Sequences: the migrated Macros still use them. New Sequences you create after the rollout remain building blocks that you choose to include in a Macro.
Already created replacement Macros?
Your manually created Macros are kept. If an automatically migrated routine appears alongside a replacement you built earlier, review both before removing anything. Matching names alone do not tell you which one contains your preferred setup.
For a replacement containing a single original Sequence, missing settings and layouts can carry over where supported. A newer layout is not overwritten, and a Macro combining several Sequences does not automatically inherit one Sequence's layout. Contact support if you are unsure which version to keep.
Something missing after the update?
Refresh the remote's configuration and confirm that it uses the same account and intended remote favorites. If no app-update prompt appears, contact support with the installed app version and build number; refreshing the web page alone does not trigger the remote's update prompt.
If a logo, key assignment or custom screen still looks wrong, contact Haptique Support before deleting routines, uninstalling the app or clearing its data. This helps us investigate while preserving your saved setup.
